Kelloggsville High School Students are doing a mural and we need your input! It will be included in this project! Go to the blog site above and tell us what you think! If you can’t blog, you can draw or write a note and put it into Ms. Casmere’s mailbox. We are proud of our Kelloggsville Community for many reasons. We build our MIND, BODY and SPIRIT in many ways and we celebrate our diversity. This a Service Learning Project sponsored by the KISD
Very cool! When I think of mind I think scholastics. The picture you have represents that well! When I think body I think extra-curricular. It is a very big part of Kelloggsville's make-up. There are many different symbols that can be combined to describe body (ie, basketball, baseball, football, softball, volleyball, soccer, track shoe, instruments, music notes, cheer poms, archery, etc.). When I think spirit I think school spirit/pride. This school does a great job with school spirit! Don't get me wrong, Sarah does a very good praying mantis...or whatever that yoga pose is! :-)

ReplyDeleteI am so excited to see the groups gathering in the hall, students seeing themselves, writing on this Blog, staff asking questions, and the visiting artists loving what is happening in the mural!
DeleteI think that the students are on the right track with their ideas of mind, body, and spirit. Idelia's compositions are strong! Many more students want to find a way to get involved.
Thank you to Mr. Plain contributing and for having is class Blog on the first question!
Writing and art are both communication forms that have been constant throughout history of mankind!

ReplyDeleteImage #1 seems to represent Mind due to the fact that the student is studying. Image #2 seems to represent Spirit because it shows two students getting along pretty well. Image #4 (Whatever happened to #3?) seems to represent Body because the people are doing crazy, athletic poses. I don't really have any suggestions for the mural, just a positive comment to make: I hope this mural comes out good. After all, a lot of work is going into this project.
ReplyDeleteImage #1 represent the mind since she's studying and that trains the mind.Image #2 seems to be spirit since there because there being nice friends to each other which helps a persons spirit.I think image #3 looks like its representing mind, body, and spirit since it's a yoga position and that relaxes the mind, release tension from the body ,and helps the spirit.Image #4 represents the body since their keeping themselves in shape.Mind, spirit, and body kinda all link together if you help one your kinda helping all 3 but same thing if you hurt one. Therefore all picture represent all 3(mind,body,spirit)with some few exceptions. Some suggestions I could make to help the project could be having a person about to do a touchdown(like throwing the ball to the ground) to represent the body and maybe some one cheering him off to represent the spirit.I really hope the mural come outs looking well,I hope this help you guys out.
DeleteTaylor is doing an excellent job on looking smart and uses mind. The guys might be talking about how they love the assemblies at kelloggsville. Getting into the the school spirit. Me I look like I am doing mind body and spirit. That pose is kind of spiritual to me. The body language looks good. It looks like Im having fun and focusing on what i'm doing. The girl on the bottom is into a lot of spirit . Well she is a cheerleader. I believe all of us have something about mind, body, and spirit.
ReplyDeleteThe First image to me shows the great education that is offered at Kelloggsville. Image 2 shows to me how most of the students here are great friends and help each other out. image 3 to me shows that we have a very peaceful environment that kelloggsville has. image 4 shows to me that the students of kelloggsville here have spirit for their school.
ReplyDeleteimage 1 to me shows how here at kelloggsville, we get a great education. image 2 shows that the students are all friendly with one another and help each other out. image 3 shows that kelloggsville has a peaceful environment. image 4 shows that students at kelloggsville have spirit for their school.
ReplyDeleteThe images do represent mind body and spirit. When I think of mind I think of studying and personal time. Image #1 represents that. When I think of body I think of athletics and Image #4 represents that. The mural has been coming along well. For spirit we can also include our school spirit because many students in Kelloggsville portray it regularly.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures on your the website represent our school in many positive ways. Picture number 1 represent positive values in our school by how we study or read in class and in the hallways. Most of the students in our school really care about their grades. The girl is wearing a backpack and reading a book, so it looks like she is really into the book she is reading and learning. Image number 2 shows how students hang out or talk to each other. Both of the students in image number two has a smile on their face. Image number 3 is showing peace in my opinion. She has a smile on her face and sitting in the same position when people meditate. Meditation is peaceful and quiet. Students can be loud and have fun, but there should be times when people should relax or have quiet time to study. The last image is showing sports. Cheerleading to be exact. Sports or exercising is a big part of many people's lives, including mine. In conclusion, all of these pictures is representing our school in positive values.
ReplyDeleteSome things I suggest for the mural is including volleyball positions. I would love to pose for you and be on the mural. Volleyball is a popular sport here at Kelloggsville High school and I think it should be a part of the mural. The volleyball pose can represent the body. Another suggestion could be a pencil writing “Kelloggsville High School.” across the wall and the words can be curvy. This can represent the spirit we have here at Kellggsville High School. These are some suggestions for the Mind, body, Spirit mural.
Image #1 represent the mind since she's studying and that trains the mind.Image #2 seems to be spirit since there because there being nice friends to each other which helps a persons spirit.I think image #3 looks like its representing mind, body, and spirit since it's a yoga position and that relaxes the mind, release tension from the body ,and helps the spirit.Image #4 represents the body since their keeping themselves in shape.Mind, spirit, and body kinda all link together if you help one your kinda helping all 3 but same thing if you hurt one.
ReplyDeleteIn image #1 i think that it represents how studious Kelloggsville students are. The girl is reading and exercising her mind. In image #2 it shows how diverse and accepting Kellogsville students are. No matter who you are you have a friend here. Numbers 3 and 4 show a soul ans body thing to me because it shows peace and athletics in our community as well. I think that something that should go on the wall is a picture of Mr. Frens because he has come a long way through Kellogsville and I think people should acknowledge that.
ReplyDeleteImage #1 represents a girl reading a book. This is an example of mind and it represents positive behavior by studying. Image #2 could be displaying their school spirit because they could be talking about how they enjoy kelloggsville. Image #3 is an example of spirit because it shows how peaceful people could be. And I think image #4 could be body and spirit. I think it could be body because it is showing the athletics. And it could be spirit because since they have school spirit they joined the cheer leading team and shows how proud she is Kelloggsville. I think you should have a group of people together showing the values of friendship. Also you could show a senior graduating in the robe and shaking the hands of some teacher as a way of saying this student used mind, body, and spirit to graduate from Kelloggsville high school.
ReplyDeleteI think that Sara is a great representation of all three, and the girl w the backpack is great for mind because she's studying hard. The cheerleAder pose is great for body and spirit because she's cheering and enthusiastic about it. The boys picture is a bit unspecific but it looks like they're in weight room and gym clothes, I think it they were holding weights or something it would do better for body.
ReplyDeleteImage #1 represents how great our education is at are school. Some ideas for the mind body and spirit . I think we should spread it out more have them on the main walls. Have inspiring words so when we walk down the halls of Kelloggsville we can feel good about are selves and that we are for this school. Great job painting rockets(: - Jessica McIntyre!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteImage#1 represents about how we are proud to have a good education at are school. Some ideas for the mind body spirit is that we should spread it out. Put it on the main walls pit inspiring words to make us feel important.
ReplyDeleteI like how how they use actual people from the school and how everyone is doing different things. Also I think they should put something that invokes the school in the moral.

Image one looks to represent the mind aspect of the project, the importance of education.Image two the spirit aspect, through friendship. That last two can display both soul and body. The first being very peaceful, whereas, the second is more energetic.

ReplyDeletei think they all show some type of positivity in the school! It shows that we are into learning we value friendships and we are also athletic. I think the could add some teachers in there to show the overall connection and some people who often are forgotten about such as the lunch ladies :)
I think they represent school spirit and friendship and diversity. I think we should have more people in the mural and it should be spread through the whole school.
ReplyDeleteI think that the images so far show that we are book smart, we value friendship, and that we are also athletic. I think that they should add images of the teachers to show the overall connection of everyone in the school and maybe even some pictures of the people who often play the background such as the lunch ladies :)
ReplyDeleteImage one represents mind, and how students work hard in school. Image two represents body where the two people are friends. Lastly the third image represents spirit, both by rocket pride with students taking pride in their school and by expressing ourselves in our own way.
ReplyDeleteI think the mural represents school spirit, diversity, and friendship. I think they should add more people to the mural to make it cover all the plain walls.
ReplyDeleteImage 1 represents how intelligent students are. Image 2 represents how diverse our school is. Image 3 represents how unique people are and image 4 represents how spirted and talented some students are.
ReplyDeleteImage 1 represents how intelligent students are. Image 2 represents how diverse our school is. Image 3 represents how unique people are and image 4 represents how spirted and talented some students are.
ReplyDeleteThe first image shows the mind because the girl is reading a book and using her mind. The second image shows body because its showing how the body reacts and shows friendship. The very last image is of spirit because of all the energy and how how we should show spirit for our school.

ReplyDelete1: it shows a girl reading while standing, most people sit and read so this shows she couldn't wait to sit down to get started. I'ld say 1 shows mind
ReplyDelete2: it shows 2 people who seem to be fighting and trying to work it out the best way possible by talking it out. this shows mind and spirit
3: it shows a girl with her hands in the air. she seems to be meditaiting or doing some sort of weird dance. this shows body and spirit
4: this shows someone doing a stretch or part of a dance. this shows body and spirit as well because she is expressing herself through physical "art"
The first image, of the girl holding a book, represents the value studying and learning has on us in school. Therefore, the representation is of our mind. Image two, of the two boys with a hand on the other's shoulder, represents the value of physical activity in school. So the visual that is given off from the picture is of the body, that being active is an important part of our lives. The image three displays spirit. The value in school that the picture shows is to be yourself, and be open in school to new ideas. The final image, image four, is another demonstration of the body. Once again, it displays how being active is a quality that we all must obtain. Our mind, body and spirit are all important parts of our lives, including in school. Without keeping in touch with our bodies, our minds, and reaching for our spirit, we wouldn't be able to function to our best abilities. -Kayla Sommer

ReplyDeleteImage one looks like it represents the mind aspect because of how close reading and education are to each other. Image two looks like it represents spirit because they look like they're both friends. The third and fourth image look like it could be both body and spirit. The third image is very calming and she looks like she is meditating. The fourth, however, looks more energetic looks like she could be on the cheer team, rooting for Kelloggsville.
ReplyDelete#1 represents mind and how education is so important and should be prioritized. #2 represents friendship and having respect for other students, but I'm not sure if it would represent mind or spirit. #3 represents spirit and how there is more than just work and play that needs to be done to be healthy. #4 represents body and how exercise is necessary for a healthy, happy, enjoyable life. Perhaps it would be good to show something that represents helping others?
ReplyDeleteThe images for the mural represent many ways of we should act in school. Being nice to each other or maybe studying for a test. The mind body and spirit is a wonderful way to represent our school. My suggestion is that we should keep doing other activities like this. By doing these creative projects will reach out to our community and let people see what our school is all about.
ReplyDeleteNow that is Art in action. Way 2 cool! Thank you for using your talents to make a difference
ReplyDeleteImage #1, looks to me like a girl, who is standing in the hallway studying for a test before class starts. Thus, hinting the mind part, she is using her mind for an education. Image #2, seems to be the spirit. They are friends who are talking and being friendly to each other, so there setting off a good spirit. Image #3, makes me think of all three aspects, mind, body, AND spirit. She is in a yoga position and she is clearing her mind, relaxing her body, and filling good things in her spirit and ridding herself of the bad. Image #4, reminds me more of spirit. She seems like she could be a cheerleader, practicing a cheer move for an upcoming game. She is showing spirit towards the school.
ReplyDeleteEach of these three images represent our school in a very positive and reputable way. Image one portrays the significance of education and how it effects our students here at Kelloggsville. The majority of students actually enjoy performing well in school. We put schoolwork before anything else. Image two depicts two friends casually joking around with each other. I see this exhibiting the behavior of the students at our school. We can be serious when the time calls for it, but disciples are, for the most part, close and familiar with one another. Since our school is much smaller than others, the students connect more than ever, growing fond of one another and generally having good time. I interpret image four as a student representing her religion and personality. Our school is very diverse, containing numerous ethnicities. An abundance of students come here from other countries looking for the excellent education Kelloggsville provides. There is also personality in this picture. The pupils don' care what others think of them, they just like to express themselves. Image five tells of the school's athletic enthusiasm. We perform our best here, and for the past couple of years, our hard work had payed off with numerous playoff championships and seasons that we were un-defeatable.
ReplyDeleteOther positive representations of MIND, BODY, and SPIRIT that should be added to the mural would be images of flags from different countries. This would make everyone feel as if they were part of the mural. It also shows the diversity in our school. There should also be images of sports added to the mural, especially soccer. Many of our students are athletically active and we should represent them. These are some suggestions for the Kelloggsville art mural.
In my opinion, image number 1 represents Mind because the student looks like she is studying or reading a book and it represents learning. Image number 2 also represents Mind because, what I see in the photo, is one student teaching the other that something they did was wrong, and they should do good instead of bad. Image number 3 represents Spirit because it shows a student meditating, which is usually used to connect with your spirit and relax you. Image number 4 represents Body because it is showing a young girl, from what I see, cheerleading (quite well) and it shows that she has a healthy body. All I could suggest to add to the mural is more students wearing the Rockets insignia and maybe some more photos of friends together, or a teacher and a student, which would represent Mind because the photo would symbolize an equal relationship between student and teacher.
ReplyDeleteImage #1 shows how here at Kelloggsville we a have a great education. Image #2 shows how we get along pretty good, we have a great friendship with each other. Image #3 and #4 show body and spirit because there doing some thing they enjoy and active and their so into it. They all show how peaceful and active our school is. These are some good examples of mind, body, and spirit at Kelloggsville High School.
ReplyDeleteImage #1 I believe represents mind, it shows how important education is to some students. Image #2 I think represents spirit, the spirit of friendship. Images #3 I think represents mind and body. Showing the person being more relaxed. Image #4 I think represents all Mind, Body, and Spirit. Shows the person having fun while both mind and body are working. A suggestion is I think pictures of sports teams or groups should be added.
ReplyDeleteImage one represents the high academics we strive for at Kelloggsville. The next image portrays friendship. The picture shows two friends talking and having a good time. Image three shows a girl doing yoga. She is meditating and replenishing her spirt. The last image represents sports and extra curricular activities.
ReplyDeleteMy suggestion for the rest of the mural is to add at least one teacher [maybe a lunch lady] . And include more aspects of SPIRIT.
- larissa. :)
The frist image represents the education that our school has provided for the students. In image two the scene I see is two people talking and getting along. Image three reminds me of yoga or spiritual practice also religion. Picture four reminds me of cheerleading or being active. I think that they should put in team sport like basketball or softball. Also I think that maybe they should put a group like book club or theatre.
ReplyDeleteThe first image represents how students at Kelloggsville are very studious and focused. The second one shows how there is peace and friendship between the students at school. The other two images represent the different type of activities there is. Some students go for the more energetic activities and others go for the more relaxing ones.
ReplyDeleteAll of these pictures would be great to go on the wall. Picture 1 represents how educated we are at Kelloggsville. Image 2 shows the diversity we have in this school and the friendships one race has with another. Image 3 represents mind, body, and spirit. It looks like she is in a relaxing yoga like pose. Picture 4 represents sport and athleticism we have here at Kelloggsville. I think there needs to be a picture of the principle or teaches posing with a student that would cool.
ReplyDeleteImage #1 seems to represent mind because it looks like the student is studying. Image #2 shows how most of the students here are great friends and don't care what race, age,or gender everyone helps each other out. Image #3 is an example of spirit because it shows how peace and not anger are in most people. Image #4 shows the body because its a sport what she is doing. Some suggestions that i have are that they should put something to do with every sport or club that is in kelloggsville high school .
ReplyDeleteImage #1 represents a girl reading a book or studying, it shows how in Kelloggsville there is a lot of students getting a good education. And that they are working hard to keep their grades up. Image #2 shows friendship also shows how in our school mostly everyone gets along. Image #3 it seems like it's showing peace. Image #4 represents the body.
ReplyDeleteI really don't know any suggestions for the mural because they are doing a excellent job .
These images show positive value for k-ville. They show students interacting with each other. Also athletes to show their mind and body. Now they are presenting a teacher teaching in class. That shows that our school cares about each and every student in this school. I enjoyed the image of the student reading, this school needs to see more of the good values of our students.
ReplyDeleteThe first one shows someone who is interested in a book and they are focused on schoolwork or learning more. The second picture shows people getting along and there isn't any disagreeing going on in that picture. T third one shows a relaxing person thats maybe exercising or stretching. The fourth shows people interested in dancing and/or being active with all sorts of activities. I think there should be more relaxation and learning showed in the pictures. More students enjoying and having fun in school but still focused and serious about school work.
